cycle form is an intermedia work which fused performance art, free improvised sound performance, and interactive sound installation. This work was developed and performed as a response to the photography exhibition Walter Pfeiffer: Connemara at the Boole Library, UCC. Field recordings were captured on location in Connemara, Co. Galway. A MaxMSP patch was designed which would degrade the recordings over time. The performance then embodied a duty of care, where the interaction with the installation (system) contributed to the "health" of the soundscape.

The piece reflects on issues such as soil degradation and ecological collapse. In Connemara, issues such as overgrazing are having devastating ecological impacts (link).
